InterviewPlanner is joining Gem

We are thrilled to announce that InterviewPlanner has been acquired by Gem!

This is a huge milestone in a journey that began with a simple belief: we could build something better than what existed—an interview scheduling platform that wasn't just functional but delightful.

Our journey so far

We began working on InterviewPlanner over four years ago, inspired by the difficulties we faced with scheduling tools at our previous company. From the outset, we took an unconventional approach by self-funding InterviewPlanner, allowing us to focus intensely on creating a product that excelled in quality and intuitiveness without external pressures driving rapid, early growth. From the mad sprint to build our MVP in just two months, driven by sheer enthusiasm rather than deadlines, to the joy of securing our first customer through a blog post on recruiting coordination, to a product used today by recruiting teams across the globe to schedule interviews more efficiently and effectively — it’s been a wild ride.

The positive feedback from our customers has been both humbling and exhilarating. As our customer base has grown, we have hit the limits of how much our tiny team can do.

Why Gem?

Gem shares our values of building beautiful, customer-centric recruiting tooling while taking a fresh and thoughtful approach to the ever-changing recruiting landscape. Through our conversations with the Gem team, it became clear that our visions were aligned, and we were impressed with the thoughtfulness and passion of everyone we spoke with.

We believe that by bringing our scheduling functionality into the broad suite of existing tools that Gem offers, we make things easier and more consolidated for recruiting teams. Teams have the opportunity to use one end-to-end platform for sourcing, CRM, ATS, career sites, talent marketing, analytics, and more.

At Gem, our goal is for InterviewPlanner to flourish while reaching more recruiting teams than ever before. Joining Gem to become Gem Scheduling isn't just a new chapter; it's a continuation of our vision on a grander scale.

What happens next?

InterviewPlanner will be rebranding as Gem Scheduling.

At Gem, we will continue adding new features to Gem Scheduling and expanding it to support more ATSs. We will also be integrating the automated scheduling functionality that our customers know and love directly into Gem ATS.

We have notified our customers already, and they will continue to use Gem Scheduling as they do now. Gem Scheduling is immediately available to any Greenhouse, Lever, or Gem ATS customers who are interested in exploring an automated scheduling platform.

We couldn’t have reached this milestone without all the support we’ve received from the recruiting community. The connections we’ve made have been invaluable. We’re grateful to our earliest users, who tested our product in its MVP form and provided thoughtful, actionable feedback that helped us develop some of our core differentiators. We’re grateful to our current customers, some of whom have used us for several years now, and whose partnership has shaped our product and the way we think about recruiting workflows. We’re grateful for the conversations we’ve had over the years with hundreds of recruiting teams, as well as with individual thought partners, on how to make interview scheduling better.
